Temporarily masquerading as “Tyrell”, Ghost of Wood released a three-part music series for Doomcast, the Curated Doom podcast, based on the music for the original Blade Runner and the sequel Blade Runner 2049.
Tyrell is an analog synth driven ode to the rain-soaked neon noir world created by Ridley Scott (and subsequently Denis Villneuve) for Blade Runner. Inspired by Vangelis’ incredible score, that was built on decades later by Hans Zimmer and Benjamin Wallfisch, Ghost of Wood creates an immersive ambient work, by turns contemplative and dramatic, that seeks to reimagine the soundscapes of the films’ Nexus-6 Replicants, spinners, humming apartments and rainy Los Angeles.
